Hard reset instructions for Tenda HG305-G

If your HG305-G router is not working as it should, dropping connections or not being responsive, you should first do a reset of the router to see if the problems persist. Other scenarios where you might want to reset your router is if you've forgotten the password or misconfigured it and can't get access anymore.
Your can reset your Tenda HG305-G in the following way(s):

Through the web interface

1. Open your web browser and go to routers web interface (check default settings below)
2. Sign in with your username/password or check default settings below
3. Once logged in to the interface locate System tools and click it
4. Under System tools locate Restore to factory and click it
5. On the resulting page click the Restore button, click Ok if prompted
6. Wait for the reboot progress to finalize

With the reset button

1. Have the power plugged in and powered on
2. Locate the Reset/WPS button on your router
3. With a sharp object (e.g. paperclip) press and hold the button for 7 seconds
4. When the SYS light stops blinking, release the reset button.

The 30-30-30 reset

1. When router is powered on, press the reset button and hold for 30 seconds. (Use a paper clip or something sharp)
2. While holding the reset button pressed, unplug the power of the router and hold the reset button for 30 seconds
3. While still holding the reset button down, turn on the power to the unit again and hold for another 30 seconds.

This process usually works for resetting any router to it's factory setting.

How to login to the HG305-G

To login to the N300 Wireless VoIP GPON Router and change the settings, you can follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are connected to the router's network, either by Wi-Fi or ethernet cable.
2. Open your browser and visit http://192.168.1.1
3. You should be prompted with a login dialogue.
4. Enter the username: admin and the password admin
   Note: If you have already changed the password use that instead.
5. You will now be logged in. If you haven't yet changed the defaul password, we recommend that you change it first thing you do after logging in.

If these instructions don't work for your router, you can always try a factory reset to get the default, or try some other common Tenda credentials, as they can usually be shared across models/variants.
